This page honors the JCRCF pilots who have earned their eternal wings. Though they no longer stand beside us on the flight line, their presence lives on in every takeoff, every landing, and every shared laugh carried across the field.
We remember the smiles and the tears — the excitement of maiden flights, the lessons learned from hard landings, the planes that soared, and the ones that never returned. We remember the swap meets, the stories told under open skies, the helping hands, and the friendships that turned a field into a family.
Because of them, we gather not just to fly, but to connect — to share the past, embrace today, and guide those who will follow tomorrow. Their passion lifted more than aircraft — it lifted people, built a community, and created memories that will never fade.
Boyd Helstrom –

The club and model aviation lost a good friend and fellow pilot. Below you can find a few pictures of Boyd taken over the years at club events. A few club members expressed they personally lost a very good friend and confidant. Boyd was one of the “good guys” and will be greatly missed. Good-bye dear friend, live with God.

Brian T. Cassidy –
April 16, 1966 – October 31, 2022
Brian Cassidy enjoyed full size airplanes and remote control model aircraft. When possible Brian used to work at full size air shows. He shared many fond memories. When a model aircraft would grace the runway and remind Brian of another event, Brian would take a moment to share. No question, even if he was not flying a plane at the field, Brian was sure to strike up a conversation about events with planes. Brian was serving as the JCRCF club Vice President when he passed. Brian’s friendship and fellowship are missed… his legacy will live on. God’s peace Brian.
